Ben Bailey, an avid birdwatcher and resident of Pagosa Springs, helped establish the San Juan Riverwalk as a birding hotspot. He sends in daily reports to an online citizen reporting site where people from all over the world can see these reports and choose to visit our area as a hotspot. Bailey also helped start the local Audubon Chapter which is very active in collecting data, protecting habitat and providing education.
